No, you're not the only one. There is a reddit thread about this issue, and it seems to be all iPhone 12 Pro Max owners. I just started having this problem last week out of nowhere. Unfortunately, my phone is 70 days out of warranty and there is no repair program for this issue.

Dealing with this right now. My phone got quite warm (again) and when I noticed that FaceID was taking way longer than normal, I did a restart and got the Unknown Part message about the camera.
