Notes data in app don’t show up

(I just lost the text for this message! I went and switched apps which was dumb.)

iPhone 8

iOS 15.2

64 GB phone

40 GB now free

iPhone 8 storage got low & became unusable so I opted to have little used apps removed in the event of low storage. But the Notes app was an app I used frequently so I don’t know what happened.

I went to the App Store to look for an update because when I tried to change the password under notes in Settings it says I needed to update the app before I could do that. No new update was required.

Data is still on the phone but not in app.

Data is shown in a browser in iCloud.

Data is still on another device.

Notes is chosen in iCloud on phone.

No option for iCloud in notes app settings.

Any ideas? Thank you in advance!

Mindy

This is what I got when I attempted to change password:

iCloud was not shown as a choice for a default account in settings/notes, just my phone. But these are shown as accounts under Settings/Notes/Accounts:

Hi mindy60,

It sounds like you have notes stored in iCloud, but they're not showing on your device. We're happy to offer some guidance.

If your device is not showing the data you have stored in iCloud, go to Settings > your name at the top > iCloud, and turn the Notes option off, then back on to refresh the sync. Give it a few minutes to sync then go back to the Notes app > iCloud folder to see if any of your information is showing up.

If you're still unable to view notes stored in iCloud, we'd recommend contacting Apple for assistance: Get Support

Hope this helps. Cheers!
