Dual 4K monitors

I have two 4K LG monitors (thunderbolt 3 for both)

I have a newer macbook pro (supports dual 4K monitors)

I have a belkin thunderbolt 3 pro docking station

I am having trouble connecting both monitors to the docking station. The docking station has 1 thunderbolt 3 port (1 monitor connected and works well). The second port supporting 4K monitor is a display port. For the second monitor, I tried a USB-C to display port connection cable (one end is USB-C, the other display port). However, this does not work at all.

My ideal set up is for both monitors to be plugged into the docking station, and one cord from the docking station goes to my mac.

Currently I need to plug the docking station into my mac (to get monitor 1 running), and the second monitor directly to my mac via thunderbolt 3.

Any ideas? The docking station supports dual 4K monitors

Connect the first display with a Thunderbolt cable to the dock or computer Thunderbolt port. Connect the second display using a Thunderbolt cable to the second Thunderbolt port on the first display.
