iphone 13 lighting jack connected headphones work for music, but not for phone calls. Why?

Iphone 13, up-to-date OS. Physical headphones with radio-lightning jack connector work for music, but not for phone calls. Apple music plays fine through the headphones. The phone app doesn't see it. Why. I've tried the adaptor with several headphones and get the same results.

Bluetooth Headphones not working with Kids Messenger Hi there, My child got bluetooth headphones for Christmas and they work with everything else - FaceTime, Recordings, etc., except for Facebook Kids Messenger. Whenever he receives or makes a call, the audio switches to the external speakers and won't run through the bluetooth set. I've tried changing the Accessibility-touch-audio call setting to Bluetooth and I've installed the latest update for iPad, but neither of these seem to have fixed the problem. Please help! Thanks,

Hello C Rand,

It sounds like after updating you are not able to hear with your headphones when on a phone call, they only work for music.

Your related article If you see an ‘Accessory may not be supported’ alert is handy for this issue. You can also check out If your headphones don't work with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Also, be sure to Restart your iPhone to see if it helps.
