Maximum items added won’t let me connect my air tag

Maximum items added? Keep getting this message. Trying to connect my Air tag. Tried all the suggestions above and still showing this message.

Come on now Apple. Fix this crap without giving us useless answers. Really tired of all your glitches and errors lately.

In case anyone is wondering, Apple still hasn't fixed this problem in iOS 15.5. I have 5 connected AirTags and Apple won't let me add any more because I have other devices, such as multiple sets of AirPods. So Apple is penalizing its most loyal customers by not fixing this error.

i did the same thing and Voila! finally!

After deleting everything airpods macbook even my iphone from Find My resulting in all data lost 😭 (my babies photos as well💔).

So what I did is to follow every step from1-6 in How to reset your AirPods and AirPods Pro - Apple Support (not yet 7)

and try to connect to air tag again and that’s it.

I have this same issues. Went all the way up to the engineers and all they said was “wait for a possible fix in a future update”

This is ridiculous, why isn't Apple paying attention to this issue :(

It worked for me! I did as you said and it worked. Once I added the AirTags, I added back my iWatch, AirPods Pro and iPad...and everything is working now. Thanks for the fix!!

I tried everything on this chat, but nothing works. Even, I deleted all my items and still the same message. This is frustrating!!!

I was trying to connect a third airtag so I disconnected an AirTag, and now I have 2 AirTags that won’t connect. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Geez I need this fixed asap.

Apple, this bug is still present in the latest updates as of May 2022. Its super frustrating and people aren't buying more Airtags because of it. Why aren't you fixing it?
