Frozen App Icon on Desktop in front of screen

I have a MacBook Air 2020, OS Monterey 12.0.1. I tried opening Excel form Launchpad and it put the Icon on the screen and now Icon is frozen on the desktop screen. It can't be moved and it shows up on top of whatever file is open. The Excel app can be opened from the dock.

I found a fix and the Icon disappeared

Very simple solution: Just search look for the original icon in the launch pad and drag it!

Apparently this is a drag action that never completed.
