I have a file name but can't find the file

First, let me say that I am using Photoshop CC on my Apple Mac Mini M1. So maybe this is an issue for Adobe. I have a complete file name, and I even have a preview image of the file. But I can't find the folder anywhere. I may even have thrown the file away. But I cannot delete the preview image or the file name. The folder doesn't exist as far as Spotlight is concerned. Nor is it anywhere to be found on the Internet by Google. Is this an issue for the Apple community or the Photoshop community?

You need to explain a little more clearly the problem, are you seeing this deleted file in the Photoshop CC Recent Files list or somewhere on the Mac?

Photoshop CC keeps its own cache of recent file thumbnails, even if the file has been deleted, although normally, double clicking on the file in the Photoshop recents list should generate a “File not found” message and offer you the option to remove the file name and thumbnail image from the recents list.

In Photoshop CC there is also the option to manually clear the recents list, from the Photoshop menu ribbon, click on “File” > “Open Recent” > “Clear Recent File List”

If you are seeing this deleted file somewhere else on the Mac, outside of Photoshop CC, you will need to explain a little better where this file is seen and what is information is available about the file when you right-click on the file and select the “Properties” menu.
