How to put accents to spanish words while using the Spanish keyboard?

I know how to do this using the iPad onscreen keyboard, BUT, the option key shortcuts that work on the Smart Keyboard for iPad with the English keyboard setting do not work when the Keyboard is set to Spanish. I see this same question was asked in 2014 with no solution. Does a solution now exist for this limitation?

Eliminating the Spanish keyboard and just using the English Keyboard setting does allow the option + e and other option key shortcuts to work, however, you lose Spanish Auto Correction.

I appreciate if someone can suggest a solution. Thanks!
