iPhone won't ring when Facebook App is open

Turning off the Auto Play Video in Facebook Settings actually worked. I put this ticket in January and thought it was fixed multiple times, but this actually seems to work!!!! It kind of makes sense because FB is almost the only App I have that will stop the Music and Podcast from playing as song as you open it.

It’s a glitch between the Facebook app & the iPhone. Apple says they can’t fix it & we should “call Facebook!” Hilarious. Here is the only workaround I’ve found, months back, in this thread. Apple support in the phone was clueless and spent hours resetting my phone & my iTunes & finally telling me to get phone replaced! The answer was here on discussion board the whole time!

Phone seems to work okay if you’ve just opened the Facebook app, but not if you’ve left it open & returned to it. So if you remember to close the Facebook window every time you stop looking at it,& reopen it each time, calls & texts seem to come through-at least for me. Btw exactly same situation for Instagram.

I had the same issue. Sometimes my phone would ring with my Facebook app open and sometimes it wouldn’t.

Played with my phone for a bit and realized that my sleep schedule is focus was on. During those scheduled “sleep times” my phone wouldn’t ring when my apps were open. Turned off sleep schedule and alarms and it fixed the problem.

I went into Settings, scrolled down to Facebook, then to Notifications, then did Allow Notifications.

I have tried the list of things to consider like the do not

disturb issue, banner setting, volume greater than half way,  on / off airplane mode and nothing

changes.  The phone only responds  correctly for one call after power off and

on.  I was final able to get the large

banner to appear but if I glance way from my phone in the middle of game the

banner is no help. I read that it is a Facebook app issue and they refuse to

acknowledge.  I have been told that a work around is to not use

Facebook via the App, only uses Facebook via a browser.

Hi. I have encountered the same problem and I have just figured out the reason. The first time I opened the Facebook app, the phone will ring when I have a call. If I swipe up to go Home Screen then I open fb app again, the phone will not ring. If I close fb app then opening again, Phone will ring again. I do not know why but that is what I figured out. I do not know this is problem of fb app or iOS. Hope they can fix this. 😁

Hello I have had the same problem with my iPhone 8plus , this morning went on App Store typed Facebook and found an update , I did the update and tried multiple times calling my iPhone while on Facebook with land line phone and problem seems to have been resolved , try it

This has been driving me nuts and I just figured it out with my 3rd Apple Advisor. Go to settings, select Facebook then shut off the bluetooth. This will not affect your bluetooth general...only on Facebook!

I had this problem on iPhone 13 pro max but fixed it today by deleting fb app and reinstalling it and bingo,phone now rings when fb app is open👌👌👌

I was able to resolve this issue by going into Facebook and allowing notifications.

I had the same problem, I think I’ve fixed it by going to Settings / Phone / Incoming calls
