iPhone won't ring when Facebook App is open

I had the same problem, I think I’ve fixed it by going to Settings / Phone / Incoming calls

Resolved after IOS 15.6 update.

I just finished chatting with Apple support. They consider this an open issue . . . . No fixes.

Best suggestion is to contact Apple support . . . . Submit issue.

My rep wasn’t aware of this issue until she looked into it. We need to flood this site with complaints. There are not enough that it’s on their radar.

All the ******** and complaining on here will not improve our situation. File a new complaint everyday, if it lets you, and just say it’s still not fixed. I bookmarked the address so I can try to do this.

I have the Same problem but yesterday I tried something… it worked but totally

go to setting > phone> Incoming calls then choose full screen

that will close FB and display the incoming call on full screen but volume is still silent ??

before it used to be calls come on drop banner and no ringing and if you have the EarPods .. you wouldn’t know that you have an incoming call at all .

Make sure you are running the latest operating system (15.5). Mine was also not ringing when in Facebook. Just started working again not long ago. I don't get many calls, so I can't specifically tie it to the update, but I haven't done anything else.

The reason you think it will ring once is because the issue does not occur until you minimize FB the first time and then pull it back up on your screen. If you completely close FB and reopen it the phone will ring until you minimize it again.

I’m trying to remember to close down the fb app after using it or open fb in the browser. Not ideal. Many people I’ve mentioned this to hadn’t realised until I showed them their phone doesn’t ring and they’re missing calls!

I have faced exactly the same issue today, could not respond to urgent business call as it never rang, saw later as missed call (iphone x with iOS 15.4.1). Uninstalled FB, Youtube now, as I could simulate the problem after reading your posts.

Business calls are more important.

Go in to Facebook settings and turn off bluetooth only on facebook. Leave your main phone settings bluetooth on. I am using my earbuds now and I am able to hear the videos. But when I get a call, the caller's picture comes up but the phone doesn't ring. But the sound from the video stops on my earbuds so that I know that I should look at my phone (on the off chance I don't have it in my hand). I'm hoping that it stills works tomorrow.

Is you’re “Silent mode” switch positioned ON or OFF?

My Mom and I just tested this and it was the switch on the left of the iPhone.

There is a Facebook update today did you try it?

Thank you for this information. I’ve just disabled the autostart feature on Facebook and it fixed the problem immediately.
