While I work I listen to videos on facebook but my calls do not ring, I can only see the banner above but the video is still playing, there is still no response from facebook, much less a solution. It worked for me go to: Settings>Phone>IncomingCalls and switch from banner to full screen, that way when I'm watching the video and a call comes in, the video pauses completely and no sound, so you can see the call in full screen and not just banner.

I spent something like 15-20 hours going over this issue with Apple support.

Probably closer to the 20 hours.

The same agent called me back every single day for OVER two weeks to continue trying to find a resolution to the problem.

We didn’t have any success, and they even ran test on my phone remotely. They sent me links that had me download something to my phone that would record what is going on on the phone while we ran different tests. Those logs were sent to Apple engineers but nobody could find a problem.

in the end they finally made an appointment for me to go in to an Apple store an hour away from my home, and they couldn’t find any problems either.

After our exhaustive effort it definitely seems like it it’s a Facebook problem.

I have an iphone 8. Same problem, if I am in Facebook and I get a call it doesn't ring but does put a banner at the top of the screen. I went to the App store and searched for Facebook. It indicated it had an update, so I did it, then put my phone in facebook and called my number from my landline and it rang. Tried the same thing a second time, and no ring - back to square one.

You might be right in thinking that it is Facebook.

Because I started having this issue on my iPhone 11 a few months ago, and then I got my new iPhone 13 Pro the first week of January and it was doing the same thing.

The Apple tech-support agent told me yesterday that they thought maybe it was a software issue and when I install the back up onto my new phone that I just carried over the problem from old phone.

I have the latest update I still need to install, and she wanted me to install that new update and see if that fixed it, and if not, she wanted me to call back and they would do a complete reset and set up as new. But that’s not going to help if it’s Facebook.

One of the Verizon tech-support agents had me reset my network settings, and reset all settings but nothing worked.

If I was on Facebook and a call came in I would have no indication at all that somebody was trying to contact me. But now, I’ve at least got the on screen notifications turned on to work it will let me know. Just no sound.

My bluetooth was already off. I have tried the list of things to consider like the do not

disturb issue, banner setting, volume greater than half way,  on / off airplane mode and nothing

changes.  The phone only responds  correctly for one call after power off and

on.  I was final able to get the large

banner to appear but if I glance way from my phone in the middle of game the

banner is no help. I read that it is a Facebook app issue and they refuse to

acknowledge.  A work around is to not use

Facebook via the App, only uses Facebook via a browser.

This issue, it seems to me, is related to the fact that Facebook takes over control of the phones speaker when you open the app.

When you have FB open, the speaker becomes dedicated to FB.

This could be related to the “autostart” feature on FB that has videos play automatically when you scroll over them.

On my iPhone 13 Pro, the FB app if opened, will kill radio broadcasts and other sounds as well, as it takes over sole use of the speaker.

I have not played around with the “autostart” and other functions of the phone or the FB app.

But some of you tech guys here will know what I’m talking about and you should look in this direction.

I’ve been having the same problem.

Back when they had the latest update after installing it, my phone would no longer ring if I had Facebook open.

It also stopped my phone from syncing to my car so I am no longer able to use my hands-free when I am driving, and people are constantly saying that I am breaking up when I use speaker phone. Over 2+ week period I Spent approximately 25 hours with one Apple tech person going over every single thing they could think of. They had me download files that they sent to me and install them on my phone that would track what the system of my phone was doing while I was using it. They accessed my phone remotely multiple times running a number of tests. The logs that they compiled that were being recorded when I would use my phone they sent to their engineers and even the engineers couldn’t give any answers. They ultimately sent me to an Apple store where they checked out my phone and also could not give any answers. Nobody seems to know what the problem is.

Now on top of all this the screen of my phone has been constantly freezing up over the last two weeks. It’s not just an app where I can close the app and reopen it, but it’s the entire phone. I can’t power it off to restart it or anything. I just have to sit and wait and eventually it will unfreeze.

I’m so angry and frustrated with Apple. I spent $1200 to buy this new phone right before the new update was downloaded and it screwed it all up.

Ive been a loyal iPhone user, but this may be my last Apple product unless they do something about it soon.

Well, I called Apple Friday May 13th and demanded to speak to a Senior Support Rep.

I told the Rep to please look at the history of my contact with their Tech Support regarding my Apple iPhone13 Pro over the last few months.

Then I told him:

” I have spent enough time dealing with these issues on this phone, and I am done dealing with Apple‘s problems.”

Then I went on to say:

” I have been participating in the Apple forums where there are a lot more people just like myself having the exact same problems and Apple is not addressing the issues. Maybe those of us that are having these significant issues should start seeking the help of Class Action Attorneys and file a Class Action Suit against Apple Inc.“

The rep then asked me what I would like him to do, and I told him:

“I WANT a BRAND NEW IPHONE13 PRO!!!”

•He said he’d Ship it Standard Overnight Delivery, but since it was a Friday it will get here on Monday.

Initially I had problems with the touchscreen having a slow response time, and people telling me that My voice was cutting out when I would use the speakerphone.

But then after the update in January everything went to ****.

My phone would no longer Sync to Apple CarPlay in my car, The phone wouldn’t ring if I was on Facebook, and many times on other apps it would not ring either, and my phone started freezing.

If it was just an app freezing I could close out the app and re-open it and it would be fine, but that was very frustrating because sometimes you would lose what you were working on. I have had many apps close on their own, and I’ve even had the phone restart on its own a few times.

But the last few weeks it has gotten so bad that the entire phone screen would freeze, and I could try to hit the volume up and power buttons to restart the phone but no response. I would have to wait several minutes for the phone to unfreeze before I could do anything.

And for the longest time the phone takes forever to do anything. No matter what I was doing it seems those little dots kept circling trying to load the page.

I no longer use a desktop or laptop computer in my entire life is on this phone.

I have been loyal to the Apple iPhones. I have never owned an android phone.

Straighten Up and fly right Apple!
