phone calls over mac distorted

After the latest updates, whenever I answer a phone call via my iMac, the incoming audio is distorted and full of dropouts. No other voice communication software (zoom, slack, etc) is giving me this problem. And the outgoing audio is fine. Anyone else experiencing this? Thanks

I'm having the same problem. When I answer a call on my Mac, it is distorted drops audio. My MacOS is 12.2, iPhone 12 Pro is 15.3. I connected my AirPods Pro and took a call and it worked just fine. I've also reloaded macOS Monterey with the same results. I've also changed the Audio Midi to 48 kHz and no change. I have also logged out of iCloud on FaceTime and through Mac. Still the problem persists.

Any help or suggestions would be great! This used to work just fine even in Monterey until one of the updates. Not sure which one caused it.

Thanks!

I have the same problem few months. Im just waiting when it will be solved. This is definitly a software problem. I have iphone 10, imac 2019 and macbook pro 2017. All the latest updates and still the same problem on all devices. But i have no issue with my car bluetooth audio or any other device. Only on my imac and macbookpro is the audio distorted/not useable. I used this feuture every day. Fix it please!

Have you found out any more about this issue? I have a late 2020 Mini with Apple silicone and a brand 2022 iPhone 13. The problem existed with my former iPhone 11. If I answer a iPhone telephone call from my Mac Mini, my OUTPUT audio is in "slow motion" according to the other person. Their INPUT audio to me is perfect. When my caller calls back on FaceTime, there is no distortion. Nothing seems to work and thus I've turned this function off. I haven't tried to answer a call from my iPads..hmmmm!

That is correct.

Using a iPhone 12 pro and and a 2019 iMac, the distortion and dropouts only happen when taking the phone call through the Mac, it does not happen on the phone itself. I am using a pair of wired headphones with the Mac. I would say this happened ever since I updated the Mac to Monterey. Both the phone and the Mac are on the latest versions.

Thanks
