Apple watch pings at night

The same thing began happening the night after my update to 8.5.1. Soft dings every couple of minutes on the charger once fully charged. No other notifications, set to mirror my iPhone and on do not disturb. Apple, fix it!

My apple watch 4 has developed the same problem. Pings all night when charging on the original charging cable. Sometimes every 20 seconds! I stick it in a drawer with a couple of socks on top. I would hope next software update will fix it.

Yes and so far no acknowledgement from Apple that they have broken it or when they will release a fix. No way to roll back the update either. Guess it’s time to move away from Apple products, what use is a watch you have to take off the charger and leave in a draw overnight, leaving it only partially charged the next morning?

Same issue!! My husbands watch does this too and his sits on the Apple charger at night. I charge mine on a third party device. So annoying. I will turn my watch on silent/theatre mode at night but remain hopeful there will be a fix soon!

I have had the same problem since the last update - I try to remember to turn the sound off at night now but if I don’t we are woken in the early hours of the morning.

Very frustrating as this never happened before the last update!

I’m having the same issue with the watch pinging every few minutes after charging. This started on my and my husband’s phone after upgrade 8.5. Reading the other discussions, it seems like a bug was introduce in the upgrade.

There needs to be a way to turn off all charging notifications. In fact, this ought to be a default. I bet if people had to choose between losing the charging notification and losing sleep, they'd vastly prefer the former.

Given how seriously Apple takes sleep, the fact that this device is ruining it for so many people, this ought to be a top priority.

(I'm on Apple Watch OS 8.6 and still getting chimed all night long when my watch is on any of my third party chargers. I haven't tried with the Apple charger.)

I have the same issue. Never noticed it until tonight, and not until I woke at night and couldn’t get back to sleep because of that noise! Updated the phone and watch a couple days ago.

My series 7 watch started doing the exact same thing after upgrading. It does not happen if I use the apple charger that came with the watch. And the apple charger is plugged into the same outlet.

My watch is 7 was fine till update ran during night, now can’t sleep at night because it pings all the time.

My 7 has started doing that since I got a charger, that I keep in nightstand mode I think it’s called that shows the time, if I put it on original charger it don’t ping

Yes. Mine does the same thing after upgrade. Doesn’t do it with Apple charger.

Yes unfortunately a bug in the OS update no one from apple has responded but hoping it will be fixed soon, it really is annoying

Same problems as everyone else with night pings following installation of latest update. Would appreciate some acknowledgement from Apple, given all this feedback. Please fix this bug soon!
