Best Apple External CD / DVD Rom Drive?

Happy New Year all!

I just wanted any recommendations of a USB CD/DVD ROM drive for the newer Mac's

I still have many DVD and CD back ups of projects, so a USB CD/DVD ROM drive is still a necessity for me, to plug in as and when needed.

I did look at the Apple SuperDrive, but it seems its only USB 2.0 so probably not as fast and dated?

Are there any USB 3.0 DVD-ROM drives that could read Data CD's, DVD back ups that I have as well as ripping/playing my own Music CD's?

Many thanks!

I use an Apple USB SuperDrive occasionally and have no complaints.

USB 2.0 vs USB 3.0 makes no difference with a SuperDrive or other external optical drive because the speeds that discs read and write at are below the USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 maximum speeds, so you'll get full performance from your discs either way.
