Replies to Texts Going to Pixel, not iPhone

I made the switch recently from android (Google Pixel) to an iPhone 13.

What I have discovered is that some but not all messages I sent to an android-based user have the text replies go to my Pixel and the Messenger app. This does not happen with all android users, just some.

I am looking for clues on how to resolve this. Is this an iMessage issue? I could not find anything obvious on that app or on the android side. And Internet searches are coming up empty.

Welcome Emtinflorida,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. Based on your post, you've switched from a Google Pixel to an iPhone. Now some text messages are showing up on both devices. We'll do our best to assist with this.

In general, a good troubleshooting resource for messages issues would be: If you can't send or receive messages on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

You'll also want to go to Settings > Messages and make sure your number is checked under Send & Received.

iMessage is not supported on the Google Pixel. It is only compatible with other Apple devices.

Hoping to hear how it goes, take care.

Thanks for the reply. Yep, the number is checked properly.

The thing is, I can send and receive messages on my iPhone, I just can't receive message replies from certain Android-based users; that is, some, but not all. I couldn't find a discussion with this scenario.

I was able to resolve it only by turning off my Pixel, which is not ideal since it just masks the problem.

I'm hoping someone who's also savvy with Android will know what to do, but it's not the end of the world if not. I don't think it's a iOS issue but instead an Android one.
