window server high cpu on Monterrey

Hi,

All every since latest upgrade to Monterrey (on 12.1) I have been seeing this windows server issue that many have reporterd over time and CPU is going mad and fan when literally barely anything running.

I have took all the advice on most threads, virus checked, removed old software no longer in use, changed display settings etc and none of it works and still it goes on.

Safari starting literally makes it worse, so much so had to switch to FF and even then barely improved matters.

Can somneone please help as this is driving me mad !!

Give this a try: boot into Safe Mode according to How to use safe mode on your Mac and test to see if the problem persists. Reboot normally and test again.

NOTE: Safe Mode boot can take up to 3 - 5 minutes as it's doing the following;

• Verifies your startup disk and attempts to repair directory issues, if needed

• Loads only required kernel extensions (prevents 3rd party kernel/extensions from loading)

• Prevents Startup Items and Login Items from opening automatically

• Disables user-installed fonts

• Deletes font caches, kernel cache, and other system cache files

an update if anyone is following the same problem. After much checks, found out after my 1password sub expired it seemed that plugin in the browser caused the problem, removed 1password and all been fine since.

So to conclude it appears safari is the issue and removed pinned pages and can use it fine, has to be a bug of some kind with latest updates ?

closed Safari and now shows this and fan stopped

Thanks mate and tried that and started safari and straight away see this. On safari I have 4 tabs pinned could this be the problem, I can reinstall of course but that seems extreme ? All I am running is this

reopened safari and nothing at all browsing and now shows, Firefox does not seem to have the same impact but I much prefer to use safari
