Time Capsule Stopped working right after installing Monterey on why 2019 iMac

Just upgrade to Monterey on my 2019 iMac. Now my "Time capsule" is missing from Finder and Time Machine says "could not backup because the "Time capsule is not available."

The WiFi is working OK. the Time capsule is a 2TB version.

Most all else seems to be working, but I have just now started to work with the new OS.

iMac 27″, macOS 10.13

If you have not already done so, the most basic of troubleshooting steps.......which you may have already done....... would be......

Power off the Time Capsule

Wait a few minutes

Restart your Mac

Power the Time Capsule back up

Check to see if the Time Capsule now appears in the Finder

If yes, try to run a backup

We really don't want to waste your time asking you to perform other troubleshooting tasks that you may have already done, so it would help speed the process along if you could please list the actions that you have already tried.

Thank You Bob. Besides the normal "Restart your iMac", I had done nothing at all. Seems these Time Machine/Capsule problems are frequent with Monterey updates. Anyway I only venture into simple restarts - I'm not well versed in how to fix/troubleshoot these types of events on computers (although I should have someone teach me).

Anyway, I have done what you recommended and the Time Capsule has shown back up in the Finder sidebar. 😄

I will now try to run a backup. for the next step.... Stand-by.

Well, Fortunately it seems to have worked 👍. After I came back home today from getting a COVID Booster down Time Machine Icon at the top of my screen said last Backup completed at 3:47pm.

After a couple of more hours (now after 5:00pm), it says the last Time Capsule Backup was at 4:15pm. So it has done a snapshot since the backup completed.

I will watch it tomorrow and see if anything changes. I'll let you know.

So far all seems to be going well.
