Why do some images show as a 'Jpeg" rather than the photo?

If I mouse over them, then I see the photo. 2020 MBP, Monterey 12.1

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 12.1

From your view there in Finder, use the short cut: Command J to "show view options."


toggle the "Show icon Preview" off/on
