How to fix camera quality

I am so frustrated.

This phone ruins everything photo I take of my rabbits. I want to know how to turn off whatever hellish “feature” this phone has that does this. For some reason every time I take a photo that looks just fine in the camera app, the finished photo is this airbrushed nightmare. The rabbits’ fur is smoothed out in the ugliest way- they end up looking like depressed stuffed animals. The only way I can get the photos I *want* is by screenshoting the camera app which is really difficult with my hand size.

First of all the second photo is focussed on the cage. It will be almost impossible to focus on the cage contents.

Also the first photo has foreground junk that it may focus on. Move the yellow focussing square to the subject and clear the decks.

If your phone is new enough, turn off smart HDR, HDR and scene detection in the camera settings.
