New Print Shop?

I got an email from MacKiev that announced a new Print Shop version compatible with Apple's latest operating system. Any truth to this?

We're mighty pleased to invite you to download a FREE update for The Print Shop for Mac with some much-needed technical repairs and improvements. Version 4.1 is a true 64-bit edition that's lighting fast on macOS 12 Monterey but still runs nicely on the last SIX operating systems – all the way back to macOS 10.12 Sierra. You will find we've made many of the adjustments you requested, and stability improvements that make this the most rock solid edition we've ever built.

The Print Shop 4.1 for Mac

  • A true 64-bit version that's lightning fast
  • Full compatibility with macOS 12 Monterey
  • Runs on macOS 10.12 Sierra and later
  • Many adjustments you requested (we heard you)
  • Important security updates to keep you safe

Yes, this is legit. I have confirmed it with two different MacKiev support people. They are offering two versions of the update:

• Version 4.1 (64‐bit)

• Version 4.0.1 (32‐bit)

Note, however, that you cannot just download the update. You have to request the update through the email; then you will receive another email containing a download link ... but the update isn't available yet... as of today their statement is: "We are putting the finishing touches on The Print Shop for Mac updater for your version of The Print Shop. We will be sending those out in the next week or so and will email you."

I had the same issue. I contacted MacKiev support and explained the situation (that since PrintShop 4 was only 32 bit it was impossible to install it on Catalina, so the app isn't on my Mac and therefore cannot be upgraded, in which case I need the full 4.1 installer, not the 4.1 update. They agreed to provide me with a link to the full installer instead of the updater. (And I have received the link but am still waiting for 4.1 to be available.)
