Palm rejection not working on notes app

Hi everyone. I’ve just bought the 9th generation iPad and a non apple stylus. The stylus seems to work fine on notes until I try and rest my hand, which then doesn’t allow me to write/draw. Is this supposed to happen? Does anyone have any recommendations as this is solely why I bought an iPad and it makes it quite difficult otherwise. Thank you.

Apple Notes lag when taking handwritten notes on iPad Pro with Apple Pencil I have the 2nd generation iPad Pro and noticed a lot of lag after updating to iPadOS 16.1. This is especially prominent as the size of the notes increase (i.e. more than 4 - 5 pages). At this point, the current note is completely unusable. I have also noticed that if you close the notes once the lag appears, apple notes does not save the 'laggy portion' as well. I restarted the iPad and also ensured no apps were running in the background. Lag remains.

My iPad refuses to draw on a specific area. This happened weeks ago, and for some reason, my iPad is refusing to draw on a specific horizontal line. I noticed this problem when I’m simply trying to draw on procreate with my apple pencil. The same thing occurs when I draw with my finger. I thought procreate was the issue, but as I tried to draw on other drawing platforms the same issue happened. I’ve hard reset my iPad, and refreshed the app. The same problem still occurs. I’m using the iPad 6 with the 1st generation apple pencil. I haven’t had any recent damage of both devices.Is there a way I can fix this?

Both Apple Pencils (1st or 2nd generation) have palm rejection.

If it doesn't work with your non Apple Pencil, I suggest that you contact that pencil's manufacturer support team and ask them.
