Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question.

Battery % indicator is no accurate.

Why can't Apple Support resolve or explain why my battery charge indicator % is all over the place? It went from 45% down to 10% in less than 30 minutes. Plugged the charger in and it immediately went back up to 44%.

"Chatted" with an Apple Support advisor... battery is good(81%) and software is up to date.

What diagnostic s can Best Buy do that Apple Support cannot??

There can be issues like that as a battery ages, and it's not unique to Apple and there's no special sauce that Apple has to avoid it. Battery health and how much charge is left is really just an estimate based on observation. It's not like a fuel tank where there's a physical means to determine how much fuel there is. Especially as they get older they can sometimes start showing inaccurate condition. That's usually solved by replacing the battery.
