Hey everyone,
I am trying to change the colour of my folders, and one of the steps is to select the Preview>File>New From Clipboard option. However, it is greyed out and doesn't work even if I press command N. Regardless of trying to use it for colour change, it does not work for any document, screenshot, or pdf. Can someone please guide me on how to enable it? I currently have the macOS Monterey 12.1

Currently it has the folder I copied, and the ‘New From Clipboard’ option is enabled. And I also realized what I doing wrong…because when I was coping it before, it wasn’t coming up on clipboard (I guess I didn’t press command C when it was hilighted), but now it is! Thanks!

Preview's New from Clipboard expects a pre-existing, supported image format, or PDF content on the clipboard before launching Preview.
Thanks for responding, so, does that mean the 'New From Clipboard' option is practically useless? As there is no way to access it?
I use it all the time. What is currently on your clipboard when you attempt to use the command? In Finder, Edit menu, Show Clipboard.
