Why does Music cut off my library songs at unpredictable places?

This seems not resolved still (last discussion was in 2018) but Music, what used to be a perfectly working app called iTunes, now randomly cuts off all songs in my library. Sometimes not, mostly it does. My library consists of thousands of songs, for the majority put in from my own CD collection. Nothing to do with the music store. Not a user of any cloud service here. So I am at a loss why this erratic behaviour exists.

It seems to me Apple doesn’t care anymore, which is very unfortunate.

How to go about now?

Suggestions as to what other app I could use to play my own music on my iPhone? It was such a pleasant functionality of mobile phones….

iPhone SE, iOS 14
