does time machine back up emails?
Does the time machine app back up emails? If not, is there some other app that does. If my computer crashes I am wondering if my emails can be recovered? Thx for reading.

You can still Enter Time Machine and drill down into the file system and retrieve email messages.
The emails are here on my Mac.
There are different V folders with V9 being for Monterey.
Technically it does however the feature of using TM to retrieve a specific email (as you would to find a document) is no longer available. If you open email and then go to TM it will not even provide any view of email app with Monterey..
If they're on your computer, yes, unless you've set it not to. If they're on the provider's servers, no; backups of data there are handled by them.
