Syncing files to PC is insanely slow?

I'm trying to transfer everything off of my iCloud drive to local storage.

Yesterday I got the iCloud app for windows 8 since the windows 10 one is broken, and my files started syncing. All the folders have been made, but most are empty.

Currently the total size is 223 MB, so assuming its been 24 hours that's 2.58 KB/s.....

Is there a faster way to do this?

Windows, Windows 10

Hi Leo Shafai, We appreciate you reaching out to us. We understand that you are in the process of transferring your files from the iCloud Drive to a Windows 8 PC, and you find the progress to be insanely slow.

There are a number of factors that may affect the speed of a download or transfer.

For example, the speed of your internet connection, the size of the file, or the hardware of the device the file is being downloaded into.

We recommend that you try the process using a different network.

It may also help if you try it on a different computer.

Take care!

Yeah for whatever reason it just didn't like transferring when on wifi, once I connected to ethernet it was sped up to a slightly more reasonable 1 MB/s.

Good news though downloading photos and videos from right clicking the taskbar icon took full advantage and all 21 GB downloaded in about 10 minutes.

A little confusing that there's 2 different places you have to go to get all your stuff, and then a 3rd being the website if you want to delete it after
