In the body of my text on the ‘Sent Screen’ there is a bell with a backward slash thru it. Is that an indication I’m blocked by the recipient to get texts from me?

The bell with the slash means notifications are on. The bell with no slash means you will not get notifications.
If you tap that icon it will turn off notifications of future text messages from that person.
