I need to replace my classic iPod battery where can I do this

Your iPod classic is now considered an obsolete product.

"Apple discontinues all hardware service for obsolete products, with the sole exception of Mac notebooks that are eligible for an additional battery-only repair period. Service providers cannot order parts for obsolete products."

This may not help because I am not in L.A., but I had the same problem. I found a local computer shop who fitted a new battery for me. My old 4th gen iPod classic has good battery life now.
