Macbook Air M1 Hinge Issue

https://youtu.be/wJaJS6sz3M4

I got a new Macbook Air recently, the lid / screen become tight after closed for hours. Especially in the morning, when open the lid, it will have "pop" sound, this is annoying.

I recorded the video and show to service center. They told me this is "expected behavior" and it is normal to many of the Macbook. No repair for this as this does not affects system performance and it is not cover under warranty.

Anyone having the same issue?

That is not normal or expected behavior. I don't know what your options are for service but I would either try to find reputable service or contactApple directly Contact Apple for support and service - Apple Support

Using unnecessary force to open a MacBook Air could result in a broken screen.

Thank you for reply. My MBA is only a little stiff to open or close after the screen is idle for hours. Usually in the morning when i first open or closing the screen after some hours of using it. It will become smooth as normal after that, I'm just worried it will get worst and apple told me that is user issue.

My brother has the same model as mine, bought 2 months earlier than mine, this never happen to his MBA.

Apple Service Center told me verbally this is "expected behaviour" and will not breaks the screen. They refuse to give me written service report to guarantee on this. They just ask me to accept this as "Normal".
