same problem here, made Safari default browser, used it and then moved back to firefox, problem solved.

Make sure a window of your default browser is already open. I use google chrome, so if I don't have chrome open, I get that error message.

ERROR 10673: The solution is very simple but you have to repeat it every time, but it is a minor problem for me. Before you open your mailbox, just open the browser of your choice. Only after this , you open your mailbox and click any link you want without the error-pop-up. It is as i said very simple to do it. I have been doing that since February.

Default browser now S. Not Chrome or Foxfire. Fixed the problem. But why??? I don't want to use S. because of security issues.

That is interesting solution. I had to change my Home browser from Opera to Safari and it is working ever since. But I wanted to use Opera for my research on internet and Safari for ebay only . Now I have lost that convenience. This problem started since the latest OS Apple upgrade . The big brother is trying to control the user !?

It's very inconvenient, but you can get past this problem by re-booting. Makes no sense, but it works for me. I use Firefox. Apple is trapping us in Safari -- not the worst case scenario, but for those of us who have history on another program really need to be able to stay there! Apple, be ashamed.

I haven't seen an understandable answer to this question :-( It only happens when trying to use Google Chrome to open Gmail or Apple email links. Opening the Firefox browser solves the problem. What the heck it wrong with Google Chrome?

I'm having this same problem, but just for the past week or so. I'm using a 1-year-old iMac. It never happened before, and now it happens nearly every time I try to open a link from an email. If the solution is to use Safari, that's really not ideal. There are many good reasons why I use Chrome as my default browser. There has to be a better solution than using Safari. Sometimes it clears up if I restart my computer, but that's also not the best solution. If it's only been happening for the past week, something is wrong that I hope Apple will fix.

I am using Firefox and it is set as my default browser. This error just started this morning... Are you saying that I have to use Safari to get around this? I hope Apple isn't trying to improve usage of their browser!
