I have an old iPhone 4 I want to set up and the carrier's website says it is unlocked. However, the phone still says it needs a sim card on the activation screen. I don't have a spare micro sim so I don't know to set it up.
Any help would be appreciated.

Are you looking to just set it up without service but it just needs a SIM card to activate?

Don't some still come in cards where they can be separated into standard, micro, or nano?

Even your carrier is likely going to have a hard time coming up with a micro SIM. I stopped working for Verizion in 2016 and even then, we rarely had them.
Amazon sells a converter kit for about $5 that might enable you to use a nano SIM.
You need a SIM card to activate it. It does not have to be tied to an active line of service, but you MUST have a valid SIM card installed.
Obtain a SIM from your cellular carrier.
That looks like it would work. We never had anything like that at Verizon and I've been out of the biz since 2016. So, yeah, probably one of the MVNO carriers would be a better source.
When I saw the subject line, I initially thought it might be a post about the CDMA version of the iPhone 4 (March 2011?) which had no SIM card slot at all.
Ah yes, I understand. As a Verizon person, you would be on the lookout for such things.
I had overlooked that possibility.
