some contacts not syncing

Bought the new M1 air last week. Transition from my 2015 13" was absolutely flawless...except for my contacts. Around 20-40% of my contact list is missing. These contacts do currently exist on my iPhone 13 and existed on my 2015 MacBook. For some reason they just aren't there on my new MacBook. Ive double checked the iCloud accounts matching and sync is turned on.


fyi: I can still receive and send messages to these contacts, and they have their normal contacts when I'm texting them on my phone, but when I go to respond to them on my Mac they appear as an unsaved number.
