I've just upgraded my imac (late 2015) to monterey and the built in speakers are not showing in system preferences sound output. Also the Mute box is ticked but greyed out and cannot be unticked. Any thoughts?

1: It's better to create your own discussion when using ASC to receive better and quicker help.
2: So you apparently either have Apple Speakers (which don't exist) or LG speakers. That means you'll probably need to contact LG.
2018 Intel Mac Mini no loner outputs sound to Apple LG Monitor speakers after Monterey update. Only the Mac Mini's speaker works. No external speakers seen. Sounds like a tin can speaker.
Worked perfectly under prior OS. Apple couldn’t help. They tried their best. No complaints there. It’s an Intel Mini running Monterey.
