How to you a restore single app from iPhone backup

I have a buggy app that I want to replace with an older version from an iPhone backup on my mac. Is there a way to do this without restoring the entire phone?

Apps themselves are not part of a backup. App data/settings often is included, but the apps themselves are only on the phone.
