Suggestion for Safari tab groups: introduce a "lock" option

I was really looking forward to the new tab group feature of Safari, in terms of helping keep me productive in different modes. However, the feature is completely useless, insofar as saved tab groups are always susceptible to being modified in-use. E.g. if I have a set of five tabs saved as a group (for when I'm cataloguing books for instance), and I instinctively close one of the tabs while working, or open a new tab for a search—then the tab group is thereby modified. Which defeats the purpose. There should be an option to "lock tab group" so that, if I open a new Safari window and select that particular tab group, the same five "locked" sites are refreshed every single time, as default, regardless of how I used those tabs in the previous session. (You could also conceptualize this under something like "refresh tab group session"). I understand this might complicate matters somewhat with the idea of syncing tab groups across different devices: but there really needs to be something analogous to the "start page" of Safari: i.e. everytime i click on the start page, my favourites are saved in the exact same position as before—allowing me to start fresh / without the risk of losing something in the process. (I gotta admit: I'm stunned at how little thought went into developing what was supposed to be one of Monterey's signature features).
