background noises not working

i cant hear the background noises, even when i turn off my music. my phone is up to date and ive tried multiple sets of headphones, but nothing's worked. when i try to pick different sounds, it just says "downloading..."

i have adhd and this feature had been really helpful for my focus and now it just doesnt work 🥲 please help

Background Sounds ios17 Heyo, using an iPhone that is on iOS 17.1. Having an issue with Accessibility Background Sounds. Before iOS 17 (used to be on iOS 16), I was able to use Background Sounds, with few issues. Ever since updating to the new versions (which I should not have done), any sounds for Background Sounds that I try to use regularly cut out (with and without other media playing), then they sometimes continue playing, as if I am not playing videos or other media. I don’t know what the causes are, whether certain clicks affect it, or whether I am supposed to switch something off/on. Tried the steps listed in the page for no audio or distorted audio, but possibly due to audio from videos still working fine, none of the steps helped. I even tried resetting my phone, resetting my earphones (Bluetooth; obviously, can’t use wired earphones), and I tried toggling several sound-related features on/off. Issue has occurred for several days, by this point, and I still have the issue. I know that it’s not due to the audio of the phone, as a whole; audio from media such as videos on YouTube and other websites function just fine, so I believe that it’s either purely or mostly related to something that the updates did to Accessibility Background Sounds. I believe that it is not a direct issue with my earphones, since they work fine while paired with other devices (including a Gaming Console). Furthermore, I regularly charge my earphones, whenever they have low power. If somebody would help me, that could be nice.

How to fix background sounds on iPhone? I used my background noise today but it randomly stopped working. My phone is updated all the way and I made sure it was still on in my settings. I can click to turn it on however when I do this I cant hear anything even with the volume all the way up but it says it’s playing [Re-Titled by Moderator]

Sound cutting out on apps after taking phone xalls I have an iPhone SE. if I’m listening to a podcast or BBC sounds and then make or take a phone call, when I return to my audio app the sound then repeatedly cuts out every 20 -30 seconds. It’s super annoying. I have to shut down my phone a few times to make it work again. Is this a glitch you can fix please?

Let's start with some basics:

You mentioned that it did work in the past without any issues, but when did this issue start?
Besides the 'Rain' option, do any of the other Background Sounds options work?
From your post, we see you have iOS 15, but the latest version is iOS 15.2.1. You can verify this within Settings > General > About. Here's a link that'll show how to first back up, then Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
If you already have iOS 15.2.1 installed, this link shows how to Restart your iPhone.
