I excluded "Malwarebytes" from my Time Machine backup but I'm still getting the message that "Anti-virus software may be preventing Time Machine from writing to the backup". Anyone know how to fix this so I can backup?

If you take a new disk and format it will Time machine successfully backup to it? If it does then would point to a problem with the old Time Machine disk.
I have Malwarebytes installed (free version) and have no problems.
See the post from the Malwarebytes forum below. It would be a good idea to double check that Malwarebytes isn't scanning any Time Machine volumes.

I have the premium version, and wish to know how to prevent Time Machine from being scanned by Malwarebytes.
I’ve searched their website, but didn’t find anything that strictly dealt with this.
I’ve opened a ticket, that was conformed by email.
Waiting for a reply from them.
I'm on with Apple now. He says it should be Malwarebytes that's causing the problem. I've uninstalled the application, emptied trash, and restarted and it's still not working so something else is going on.

Malwarebytes preventing Time Machine backup
