iOS 15 causing migraine headaches

is it reasonable to think that something may have changed regarding any form of flicker with iOS 15? I have two iPads (10.5 pro) and I upgraded one to version 15.2, the other is on 14.8. I cannot use the updated iPad as it fairly quickly starts to cause a headache.

caveat: my eyes are fine, I’ve been to the optometrist.

Why do you have to be like a handful other “high level” users here? That’s condescending. Is it hard to believe a subset of users can be affected by a software change? I’ve been to 3 specialists this year. Nothing found.

Just wondering if this got better for you, I have the exact same issue after updating...however this was for the 12.5 ISO update they put out for devices who can't be updated to 15. Something is defiantly going on as I just found another person online with exact same issue. Massive migraines, headaches. Sharp head pain. It last even hours after using the updated device. I do have EHS/EMF sensitivity, so I chalked it up to that but I'm guessing you do not so it's interesting you and several others have had the same issue. It is not an "eye issue", mine are fine and it's not anything to do with the screen as I can walk up to the device and the headaches start before even using it. It lessens on airplane mode. Did it get better for you?

Unfortunately, there has been no improvement so far. I hope for every iOS update, no matter how small, but unfortunately without success so far.

I still have to reduce my screen time to the absolute minimum, because it is insanely exhausting to look at the smartphone. If nothing changes on the software side in the near future, I will have to change the device and, in all likelihood, the brand as well. If it's better in airplane mode must be explored for me.

Hi Orenjellow, I wonder if Dark Mode might make a difference for you as per the following link:

You could also have a look at some of the Accessibility options e.g. Display & Text Size, as there may be some changes you could try to see if they ease your headaches. The following link explains them in more detail:

Hopefully there is some way to continue enjoying your device but at the same time easing your headaches.

Go see a doctor/physician next.

I don't have an iPad but an iPhone 11, but I feel the same way.

I have been able to use my iPhone 11 for almost a whole year without any problems.

For a few weeks now, the smartphone has been virtually unusable for me. After a few seconds of looking at the screen, I get extremely tired eyes and a slight headache. It feels like I've been using the smartphone for several hours at a time when writing a single text message.

These symptoms have come on suddenly. I would have timed them pretty well to the update from iOS 15.1 to 15.2. However, I cannot completely rule out the possibility that it also occurred with a version 15.1.

Currently, I have no choice but to use the smartphone as little as possible and do everything possible via my Surface. Since I do not have these complaints here.

Unfortunately, I have saved my SHDH Blobs from previous versions, so I can downgrade the iOS.

Thank you for chiming in. I can indeed say this started for me on 15.1. I tried 15.2 hoping there was some mistake made in the previous version that was corrected, but that wasn’t the case.

I wish they stated everything in the release notes. Not just the new features. Can a blob from one iPad be used for another? I’d love to revert the iPad I have on 15.2 to 14.8 which is on my other identical iPad Pro 10.5
