The blue highlighted area, blue boxes could be linked to Accessibility features and you may have Switch Control on.
Settings > Accessibility > Switch Control.

Why does my magic keyboard have blue highlighted area, blue boxes around some thing and sometimes I completely loose a webpage…..nothing but trouble since getting the keyboard…help!!!
