I'm trying to install mac os Monterey to update my mac book air but it's asking to log in as an administrator with a password. Iv tried various passwords but it's not excepting them, any suggestions. Thank You

When you set up this computer, you likely logged in with an Administrator account. However, it would appear you are currently using a Standard account. If someone else helped you set up this MacBook Air, you should ask them what the username and password for the Administrator account on that computer are. The Administrator account is a regular user account created when you set up the system, and the password is not available to anyone outside of your computer.
