How can I change exterior Hard drive file and folder names in my Mac book Pro M1
It has always been easier to select an Icon, choose GetInfo, and change the name inside the GetInfo box.
If the icon is locked, you won't be able to change its name.
A hard drive Icon is renamed in EXACTLY the same way as any other icon on your Mac.
... and no, it will not scramble anything to change it in the running system. MacOS is much smarter than that.

I can't seem to be able to click on the exterior Hard drive name or any of its content to change the names! It does not activate for editing! When I hold down the control key and click, it does not give me the option to rename.
Iv'e been a Mac user for over 20 years and this is the first time I encounter this! Is there a workaround for this?
