Homekit hubs and secure video in two different homes: camera images and hubs mixed between homes

My setup is as follows:

Home A:

AppleTV and Ipad as hub, two Netatmo Presence outdoor cams, one Netatmo Welcome indoor cam, all using Apple Homekit Secure Video.

Home B:

AppleTV and Homepod as hub, one Logitech Circle 3 cam using HSV.

Problem 1

Homekit locates me in Home A although I am in Home B. No device is currently in Home A and all location services work fine on my Phone. I am located in Home B but Homekit does not want to accept it.

Problem 2

My cameras snapshots do not update properly as widely reported but worse, they get mixed between both homes (snapshots from Home A appear in Home B), which is really weird.

Problem 3

Cameras from Home A stop working in HSV from time to time (but remain connected in their native app). When checking the hub status of each home, all hubs are visible in both homes but randomly, only one in Home B seems active (Homepod) and all Home A hubs are inactive.

I do not understand why hubs are mixed up and competing over two different homes. All 3rd party hubs and accessories are kept separate.

Problem 4

Even when hubs work, Netatmo cameras fail to register movement and record. Up to now no definitive answer on the culprit.

But all in all the system is pretty unusable at present. Using it to provide security for a home more than 500 km away is a disaster.

Been there done that, all devices run the latest available iOS version, or proprietary software.

The problem does not lie with the accessories (if we intend the cameras) but definitely with the way Homekit treats hubs in different locations, particularly a Homepod. If I disconnect Homepod from Home A, after a while, AppleTV from from Home B, 500 km away comes back online. If I plug Homepod in Home A back, after a while AppleTV from Home B goes to sleep and I loose access to cameras (and the rest).

This is only the most visible problem, cameras not recording, previews not updating and images mixed between cameras and homes remain, even when I have access i.e disconnect the Homepod in Home A.

Hello François Mottaz,

We see you're having issues using the Home app and some HomeKit accessories, and we'd like to help.

First, double-check to see if there are any available updates for the devices involved. For third-party accessories this may involve downloading the manufacturer's app to check for updates.

It may also help to try power-cycling all accessories and devices as well.

If it persists, try exploring removing and re-adding the accessories.

Cheers.
