I have a *.sbcglobal.net account and access it using either Edison Mail or the Currently/Yahoo web site. I have no issues with my settings on my IOS version 12.1 iPad Air 2.
on my iPhone 6 IOS version 12.5.5 I’ve recently had no luck with mail settings. The attached doesn’t work.

Does that still persist after following the steps from this article? If you can't receive email on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If so, you’ll want to reach out to your email provider. They’d be in the best position to assist further with their particular email service.
