Hello, i have an Album in Photos on my mac. I would like to share the pictures in it with various friends with expirable link. But this option is not available for me even if i have everything like icloud ect turned on

Complicated to share photos and videos from Apple's new Photos platform. I don't want to sync all my items and apple equipment. I do not want to create Share Albums to the iCloud. Which by the way does not work on my Photos by some reason, me not being a nerd, cannot understand. I just want the simple "Create a Link" posibility as we had, until a few months ago. What happened to Apple? Got tired of being the company that made things easier for the common user (not only the techy elite)? Has anyone an understandable, simple way for me to use and send a link to the files I choose and only just that person I choose, and not to anyother soul in the Cloud world? Will appreciate a bit of the "Good Old Fashion" Apple way of making things simple, making them stupid at times - but usable by the lot.

Share photos without having to log into icloud I created a shared folder on iCloud and set it to allow access to anyone with the link, and only allow read-only access. However when I open the link in my browser it asks me to log into iCloud. I also tried clicking on the link from a Windows computer and the same thing happened. Is there a way to have the folder set so that when someone clicks the link the folder of photos opens so the user can directly view/download them? Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

How do I share all of iCloud Albums at once? OK, so I already had 30K images saved into "ALBUMS" using the local PHOTOS application on my iMac. I wanted to make them available to family and friends so I purchased extra iCloud space to accommodate the 60GB of images. Now that the days-long Herculean task of uploading is over I want to share all of those images with other friends. iCloud is limited to 1000 images at a time...bummer. I do NOT want to give my Apple I.D. log-in info to anyone. What is the best way to accomplish this? Do I have to create separate Albums or Folders within iCloud Photos? What is Photostream used for? Why can't I simply give read-only, downloadable rights to anyone with an icloud account? Does anyone know of a good workaround? I may check out Google's image cloud if I can get iCloud to do what I want. thanks,

Hi, thanks for the response.

Well, on my iPhone and iPad the option to create the link is right there without any shared album tricks etc.

So i would expect this to work in a same way on OSX Photos application.

Any suggestions why this is not working?

Add to shared album then from the shared album share a link.

Because the IOS app and the MacOS app are not the same. There are features that are on one and not the other, and features that are common don’t always work the same way.
