Improper eject alerts

I installed a new and larger Seagate USB drive for Time Machine on my M1 Mac Mini. After about a week of working flawlessly I'm not getting "Drive not ejected properly" after a few hours in sleep mode. Did not have this issue for previous Seagate TM drive. I've tried switching USB outlets. The drive apparently reconnects and appears to me making proper backups.

Disable Sleep, it’s unnecessary on later Macs, all pain, no gain. To disable, check “Prevent…” in Energy Preferences and uncheck everything else. You can leave the display off time as is, unrelated to Sleep. Shut for long absences i.e. > 2 hours.
