Move to new tab group creates empty tab group

In Safari, when I choose Move to Tab Group from an existing tab and then choosing New Tab Group creates a new empty tab group, and leaves my tab in its previous place.

What's going on here?

Sorry, yes there does seem to be an issue moving an existing Tab to a new Tab Group as it 'creates' the new Tab Group but doesn't move the existing Tab. The tab then needs to be moved as an additional step.

Incidentally, it works on my MacBook but not on my iPad.

I have subsequently left Feedback on this issue to Apple:

Hi Zarquon42, thank you for posting in Apple Support Communities.

The following link explains in more detail how to use Tabs in Safari and also has a paragraph on how to move Tabs between groups which may be helpful:

https://support.apple.com/en-au/guide/ipad/ipada3308ec5/ipados

However, when you look at the above article you will note that it states that you can move a Tab to another Tab Group but not the entire Tab Group itself. You can move a Tab within a Tab Group by touching and holding the Tab which brings up the Menu and option 'Move to Tab Group'.

Hope this helps.
