I haven’t been able to use my iMac 27” 2013 running on Catalina as second monitor pf my MacBook 2020 M1 chip running BigSur, I have the right adapter and cable, follow all the steps but nothing happens

Can I use my iMac 27” 2013 running Catalina as second monitor for my MacBook Air 2020 M1 chip running BigSur?

No it will not work, because the 2020 M1 MacBook does not support using the 2013 iMac as a display in Target Display Mode. Please carefully re-read > https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204592
