Almost every adapter HDMI/DisplayPort works ONLY from DisplayPort on the computer to HDMI on the display, and NOT the reverse.


You generally can not "stack" adapters.


You need an adapter/cable that makes the conversion from computer output to display input in at most ONE adapter.
