HP has not made drivers for the Mac on that printer.

You may find the built-in open source drivers are able to recognize the printer by holding the Option key when you add printer in Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Printer. You may need to be connected via USB to the printer for the open source drivers to work.

Alternatively you can run Windows on your Mac

or Linux which both have support for that printer, and save the documents to PDF format from your Mac, or use the screen capture options to make PDF and then print it from the alternative operating system.

There are wide variety of other Mac compatible printers from HP, some of which may even use the toner of that printer.

The supported HP drivers for the 1020 are for Windows and Linux only. However, earlier, an HP LaserJet 1022 driver 1.6.1 for Mac has been reported to work with an HP LaserJet 1020.
