Apple watch Series SE battery takes all night to charge

I've had my watch just over one year. I remember the battery never taking more than 2 hours to charge...even when it was drained down to 20-30%.

Last night I went to bed at 10pm. My watch was at 51%. I glance at it during the night in nightstand mode and noticed how the charge ring wasn't complete. Around 2am it was only about 80% charged. At 5am it still wasn't 100%. I woke at 7am and it was finally charged completely.

This doesn't sound right, does it?

It does sound right IF you have Optimized Battery Charging turned on, which you SHOULD have turned on. To preserve the life of the battery, Optimized Battery Charging charges your phone to a certain level, then stops completely and resumes charging to ensure the watch is fully charged when you normally get up in the morning after learning your charging habits. This is a good feature and will help your little battery in your watch last longer.
